Hi everyone, my name is Mauricio E. Quirante, also known as MEQ. Welcome to my website: a place where you will find a piece of my mind, soul and the visions that come along.
I have been fascinated with vampires since I was a child: An old castle lost in a big desolate landscape, surrounded by a thick fog, unreachable to most, was an image that never left me, but only grew.
Now, many years later, I’m able to present to you this body of work divided in five collections built entirely under my own interpretation of the vampire lore, since their moment of arrival, their sin, struggle, pain and ultimately their salvation.
I have tried my best to provide an order to the chaos that was, shape the dark into light, create a place where these illustrations and paintings can rest and be shown, from the past until now.
Beginning with “Ministry”, as they arrive to the world. “The Wretched”, their sin and fall. “Flame Between the Horns” is their struggle. “Black Dahlia”, the pain and sadness they had to go through, and finally redemption with “Kingdom”, a new life.
From the passions of the flesh I have been trying to find my way back to you.
