Mauricio has been fascinated by vampires since he was a child. An old castle, lost in a vast, desolate landscape, surrounded by thick fog and unreachable to most, has always been a cherished fantasy, an image he holds dear.
Now, as a grown man, he presents to you this body of work, divided into five collections, built entirely on his own interpretation of vampire lore: their arrival, their struggle, their sin, their pain, and, ultimately, their salvation.
Mauricio has done his best to bring order to the chaos, to shape fire into light, and to create a place where these illustrations and paintings can rest and be shown—from the past to the present.
The collections are Ministry, The Wretched, Flame Between the Horns, Black Dahlia and Kingdom.
